The school year is off to a great start at Harrison. It's great to see everyone in music class!

At Harrison, each student, grades K-5, has music class once a week for half an hour. The standards-based curriculum includes singing, dancing and games while learning to play different instruments including:

     - Orff keyboard instruments

     - recorders

     - bells

     - boomwackers

     - Latin percussion (Latin and African drums, maracas, shakers, cowbell, tambourine)

Students also learn the basics of written musical notation, song writing, solfege syllables and hand signs, world music and Western music history.
